Dear Wil,
I've always been in a bad mood since your grandmother passed away and I have gained a general feeling of having the society gradually moving away from me. As a man coming from China, I've had a very different life from you when I was young. Through out the 18 years of Japanese invasion and Chinese civil war, I've struggled all the way to bring our family to the United States, to let people around us respect me, and to gain the "face" for me, your mother and you. However, all my efforts are destroyed by what you and your mother have done. Being an old man who has profound experiences of life, I've found the power of fate irresistible. There are norms in this world that one should always conform to and thus can thrive and prosper in this world. Otherwise, your will lose the "face" of you. Therefore, I hope that you always bear in mind that we are a civilized family. We are not like the Americans who can do whatever they want without any Guiju(rules). YOU ARE CHINESE! This is your root and you should always keep that in mind. Now, I kind of regret raising you up in the states and get you infected with the gay culture here to forget what you should do as a Chinese. I hope you still have the feeling of being ashamed and can begin to think about your family's "face" as soon as possible.
Your Wai Gung
