From Lacey

Dear Daddy,

I want to be able to share who I am with you--all of who I am, not just parts of it. Even though I'm relieved to finally know the truth about who I am, sometimes I feel just as lost as before. Now, I know I am black, and I also know that I'm not your biological child. However, you and I both know I'm just as much your daughter as I was before. Even so, I feel as if a rift has grown between us. Sometimes I wish we could go back in time before everyone knew Mom's little secret. But that would never happen, because I'm a different person than I was then. Still, I hope to share as much of my life as I can with you.

With Love,

Lacey
